Higgy's House Creche Montessori & Afterschool Club Outdoor Play area

At Higgys House we know children love to play out doors. It’s where they get physical exercise, make friends, participate, take risks and generally have a go.

The delights of the outdoors are one of the biggest joys of childhood.
Sharing nature with children through playing outside, through gardening and caring for Higgys pet rabbits introduce them to a healthier lifestyle, a love of the environment and also complex play opportunities. Children thrive on the challenges that natural occur while playing outside.

It is our job at Higgys to know, when to guide, or when to get involved or most importantly when to stand back.

Pipes, trolleys, buckets, stones, sand, wooden blocks, bricks, just some of the “equipment” in our outdoor play area!!

We also have our outdoor vegetable patch which the children help look after and get to eat the produce they have grown, cooked by our in house chef in our kitchen.

Our Y Bikes (balance bikes propelled by childrens feet, helmets worn when using them) introduced in 2010 have been a great hit with the children also and are another feature of our outdoor fun

and all this activity is watched by our resident pet rabbit 'Piglet'
