Higgys House Afterschool Club.

Our afternoon starts when we pick the children up from any of the local schools in Gorey town in Higgy’s “green bus. When it is a bright sunny day we sometimes walk back to Higgys from the Loreto School.

Usually homework is next on the list if that is the child’s wish and their parents. Then it’s off to the dining room and a nice,
hot dinner from Mary’s kitchen.

After that the room’s activities are very much child led with the children planning what activities they would like to do.

The After school room has computers ,Vtech games. board games, toys, jigsaws and Arts and Crafts materials and books ( which are still the favourite).

On days off or holidays from school we go on trips work or large scale projects (e.g,making. masks, robots, growing vegatables in the garden).

The After schoolers are in charge of the library books and we go regularly to the local library in Gorey to borrow books. We have day trips to local and not so local places of interest. Sometimes we just go to Tescos for bread! (and a sneaky treat).
